About creative craft workshops

With more than 25 years of teaching experience and extensive knowledge of the balloon, event styling and creative industries, Angie George brings together two things at the heart of Creative Craft Workshops — professional education and real industry experience.

Angie's career in education spans many years. For 18 years she taught at a highly regarded UK land-based college, where she managed the Balloon & Event Décor department, delivered regulated qualifications and developed and taught specialist and bespoke training programmes.

Alongside her teaching career, Angie established her own balloon, floral and event decorating business, giving her first-hand experience of turning creative skills into services that customers will pay for. This combination of education and commercial experience has shaped the way she teaches today.

For Angie, teaching has never been about simply showing someone how to recreate a design.

Her approach is to help learners understand the skills & techniques behind what they are creating - why something works, how it can be adapted & how those skills can be applied professionally.

 By combining hands-on balloon & event styling skills with design knowledge, professional practice & business understanding, Angie encourages learners to develop their own creativity rather than simply copy what they see in a classroom.

Angie's teaching qualifications & industry experience are supported by further studies & qualifications in floral art & design, graphic design, marketing, media, sales, exhibitions & publishing. This broad background gives her an understanding of both the creative & commercial sides of running a successful creative business.

Her work in balloon artistry has received international industry recognition & awards, & throughout her career Angie has been invited to teach & demonstrate at colleges, educational centres, wholesalers & industry events.

Angie is also a BAPIA Accredited Educator, delivering professional balloon training through Creative Craft Workshops.

Angie continues to develop her own knowledge & believes strongly that a good educator should never stop learning themselves.

Her aim is to create a learning environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting & developing their own ideas, while gaining the professional knowledge & confidence to take those skills beyond the classroom.

For Angie, successful training isn't simply about what you create on the day. It's about what you're able to do with that knowledge afterwards.
